Frequently Asked Questions
Can my dog wear his/her collar in the pet hotel?
We do not allow choke chains or any collar that tightens for safety reasons. A normal nylon or leather collar is perfect.
Does my dog need to be vaccinated before staying at Shannoncourt Pet Hotel?
Yes, your dog needs up to date core vaccines and a bordetella vaccine.(the bordetella vaccine is separate from the core vaccines and has to be specially requested from your veterinarian)
Can I bring toys and bedding from home?
We will provide your dog with comfortable bedding and toys while he/she is in our care. We do not accept items from home. No exceptions are made. We do however accept and encourage you to bring your dogs food from home.
My dog requires medication, can you give my dog medication during his stay?
Giving medication is not a problem, we always have a Veterinary Assistant on staff.
Where will my dog sleep?

Is there an extra charge for doggie daycare?
No. If your pet is staying in our pet hotel, doggie daycare is included.
Will my dog participate in the daycare program?
If your dog likes other dogs, he/she will (with your permission) participate in our daycare program
My dog doesn’t like other dogs, what activities will he participate in ?
Dogs that do not get along with other dogs are entertained by our caring staff. Your dog will have several scheduled play/attention times per day with our staff in the daycare room and outdoor parks.
How large are the pet hotel rooms?
Our mini bedrooms are large enough for your dog to stretch out fully with extra room to spare. Each dog has their own private outdoor patio attached to their room. The rooms at Shannoncourt have ceramic floors and solid doors, just like a room in a house. We designed the rooms like this to give the dogs in our care privacy and quiet time while they are in their rooms resting. Dogs are always provided a full bowl of water, a chew toy, a blanket and an elevated bed while they are in their room.
What play areas will my dog have access to?
We have three large fenced parks and a nine hundred square foot daycare room for the dogs to play and hang out in.
Can all of my dogs stay together in the same room?
If you have more than one dog, we have several pet hotel options available.
1-Your dogs can stay in one of our en-suite rooms (two rooms joined together by a doggie door)
2-Your dogs can stay in an adjoining room with a plexiglass doggie door that keeps them separated but still visible to each other. (many people use this option when they own a puppy and a senior dog, the older dog doesn’t want to be jumped on by the puppy!)
3-Your dogs can stay directly in the same room with each other
4-Your dogs can stay in their own rooms
If your dogs are kept separate, they can still play together if you wish.
